A new study by information service Experian says that mothers with children under 5 years are more active on social media and the general public .These mothers are twice as likely to post comments on social networking sites than the rest of the U.S. population, according to the study .See also: 20 things that your friends are the most annoying on Facebook"We found in the analysis that Facebook is mostly the social network - favorite for moms with young children media , " 

Suzanne Blackburn, a spokesman for Experian Marketing Services , told Mashable .Experian Data were collected from a survey by the National Consumer Study Simmons, who examined the online habits and offline 25,000 American adults.  

The company also pooled data from Hitwise , which measures website traffic , and other research reports.Demographically , mothers who represent the majority group fell into a particular age . "More than half of mothers with young children in this study were between 25 and 34 years, the [median ] age was 32.5 years ," said Blackburn.Interestingly, the age of the children of a mother significant impact on online behavior , according to the report . Moms who have children between the ages of 6 and 10 are less active on social media than those with young children.

"The iPad was the winner by a long shot for moms with young children ," said Blackburn. " Percentages other brands of tablets were too small and too similar for us to draw conclusions . 

 "These results seem to confirm another recent study that found that 38% of children under 2 use mobile media.Together, the data from both reports indicate that mothers give an example to their children through their usage of mobile devices.
